Hello all! As a first little post and introduction to this blog I figured I'd type up a pattern to share with everyone. With this blog I hope to share more free patterns with you all (for crochet and other crafts), patterns I find that may be interesting/worth sharing, and just all things crafty in general. Let me know what you all think of the pattern! I hope you all enjoy.

This pattern is worked in several parts and sewn together at the end, though I do think its a good pattern for beginners.
Materials:
Hook size: H/8 (5.00MM)
Yarn: Medium/4 Weight
Pattern:
Abbreviations used:
sc = single crochet
sc inc = single crochet increase (place two stitches in one)
Bottom:
This will function as the bottom of the jellyfish. The circle created from this will be smaller than the one created for the body.
Round 1: Create a magic circle and sc 6 (6)
Round 2: Sc inc in each stitch (12)
Round 3: (Sc, sc inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4: (2 Sc, sc inc) x 6 (24)
Round 5: (3 sc, sc inc) x 6 (30)
Round 6: (4 sc, sc inc) x 6 (36)
Round 7: (5 sc, sc inc) x 6 (42)
Round 8: (6 sc, sc inc) x 6 (48)
Fasten off.
Main body:
The body is created exactly the same as the bottom piece up until round 9.
Round 1: Create a magic circle and sc 6 (6)
Round 2: Sc inc in each stitch (12)
Round 3: (Sc, sc inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4: (2 Sc, sc inc) x 6 (24)
Round 5: (3 sc, sc inc) x 6 (30)
Round 6: (4 sc, sc inc) x 6 (36)
Round 7: (5 sc, sc inc) x 6 (42)
Round 8: (6 sc, sc inc) x 6 (48)
Round 9: (7 sc, sc inc) x 6 (54)
Rounds 10-20: Sc around (54)
Fasten off.
Eyes: (x2)
Round 1: Create a magic circle and sc 6 (6)
Round 2: Sc inc each stitch (12)
Round 3: (Sc, sc inc) x 6 (18)
Fasten off.
Tentacles: (x6+)
The tentacles are created by varying the length of the starting chain. The longer the starting chain, the longer the tentacle. Keep in mind that with this process, the resulting tentacle will be much shorter than the starting chain. For reference, a starting chain of 50 creates a tentacle approximately 6 inches in length.
Chain any number of stitches, though I don't recommend any less than 25
Turn the work and sc 3 in every chain until the end.
Fasten off.
Putting Together:
Sew the main body and bottom portions together. For this, remember the main body is 54 stitches around and the bottom is only 48 stitches. Therefore, there will be some stitches on the bottom portion that will have 2 stitches sewn to it, instead of 1.
For this, I sewed 7 stitches together 1 to 1. For the 8th stitch on the bottom portion, there will be 2 stitches from the main body sewn to it (or the 8th and 9th stitch on the top). Repeat sewing around like this. Be sure to stuff firmly before closing.
Sew the eyes onto the main body of the jelly between rounds 10 and 16, approximately ½ to 1 inch apart.
Sew the tentacles to the bottom portion. There is no specific way to place the tentacles. I tend to place the longest tentacle in the back. Try to space them out a bit, don't be afraid to place some near the edges or even directly in the center. Play with it a bit.
Anddddd done! You now have your finished jelly!
